Cybercrime is a local menace with international flavour.

Cybercrime is mostly triggered by the economic kicks, pressured by peers and spurred by underemployment.

The team at Velma ARC is offering a way out; channeling the tech-savvy skills for the benefit to society.

We know this is the better option. Giving a second chance, to heal the wounds of the past, make amends with family and friends, and walk proudly in the community once again, that is Velma ARC`s aim.

That is why we launched the Velma-ARC

A Social Integration Bootcamp aimed at rehabilitating cybercriminals, sharpening their IT skills and empowering them to make positive impacts in the society. They would become ambassadors towards fighting cybercrimes.

The Project

Legal Protection

We are consulting with relevant stakeholders on providing amnesty to cybercrime offenders; those repenting voluntarily. Also, the identity and privacy of those who sign up will be treated with the utmost professionalism.

Extensive networks

We are reaching out to cybercrime offenders in the country willing to repent; to down their tools and turn a new leaf. Starting in January 2020, our Bootcamp is where we train and evaluate their readiness to contribute positively to the society: offering a second chance.

Professional Interventions

A team of professionals including psychologists, legal practitioners and criminologists provide the professional interventions, a key component of the rehabilitation process.

Private public collaboration

We shall invite officials from the public sector such as the Office of the National Security Adviser, The Nigerian Police, EFCC, ICPC, NITDA, NCC, Ministry of Justice and members from the private sector, especially stakeholders in the Financial and Technology Sectors for the event. We are also finalizing partnership with local and international agencies to provide technical and strategic support. Back office staff and a team of volunteers are on hand 24/7.
